Oatmeal
A classic morning meal, oatmeal can be prepared in a variety of ways. You can modify this recipe based on your mood and what’s on hand. Flax seeds add high-antioxidant lignans, essential omega-3 fatty acids, and fiber.
Ingredients
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 2 cups water
- 2 tbsp milled flax seeds
- 2 tbsp dried, unsweetened or fruit-sweetened cranberries
- 2 tsp maple syrup (optional)
Directions
- In a small saucepan, bring the water to a boil over medium heat.
- Add oats to water.
- Cook uncovered for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Remove from heat and stir in flax seeds.
- Portion out into bowls and top with the dried cranberries.
- Drizzle with maple syrup and serve.
